Premium performance rigid phenolic insulation manufactured by market leaders Kingspan Insulation was chosen for the £25 million redevelopment of the Vauxhall end of The Brit Oval. The new stand has been named the OCS Stand as part of a £750,000 sponsorship deal and sees the capacity rise from 19,000 to 23,000.
The new OCS stand has a tapered crescent shape which helps to amplify the crowd noise within the stadium. The OCS stand provides high standards of spectator comfort and incorporates four floors of hospitality and conference facilities containing a new media centre, community centre and sports hall and two banqueting suites, each with a capacity of 500 and spectacular views of the ground.
Kingspan Kooltherm K10 Soffit Board* was specified and installed under the tiered seating areas and in the executive boxes by FST Services of New Milton, Hampshire.
Paul Downey of FST Services said "We were looking for a product that would be easy to handle and install, contained no loose fibres and achieved excellent U-values. Having used K10 in the past we knew the product would easily meet all of these requirements."
Kingspan Kooltherm K10 Soffit Board is a premium performance rigid phenolic board, designed for use under structural ceilings (soffits). The lightweight product achieves a thermal conductivity as low as 0.021 W/m.K and addresses the stringent safety requirements of a public building with a Class O / low risk fire rated insulation core and negligible smoke obscuration. The product, which is CFC/HCFC-free and has zero Ozone Depletion Potential, is also unaffected by air movement and is resistant to the passage of water vapour.
